The origins of Yale Aviation trace back to 1916, furthering its mission of aviation education. Although now an independent organization, it continues to offer flight training and aircraft rental to members, including those from the Yale community. Based at Tweed New Haven Airport, the club owns two Piper aircraft suitable for private pilot training, instrument ratings, and commercial certificates, as well as recreational use.
