Virginia Department of Aviation

The Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) is an official agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia responsible for developing, promoting, and advancing aviation in Virginia. It provides technical assistance to airport sponsors, promotes aviation education, offers scholarships and grants, and provides safe, secure, and cost-effective transportation for state agencies through its Flight Operations division. It is not a flight school but a governmental body overseeing aviation in the state.
