San Diego Sky Tours

San Diego Sky Tours is a veteran-run commercial tour company motivated by a passion for aviation. All of San Diego Sky Tours sightseeing flights are approved by the Federal Aviation Administration. San Diego Sky Tours began in 2009 as part of a college business plan competition and a dream to establish a locally based leader in aerial adventures. James “Cap” Kapenas (USMC) and his then partner Ryan “Big Daddy” Poortinga (USAF) came to Montgomery-Gibbs Field with a single engine Cessna and a vision. Through the creative insight of Erich “Fox” Moulder (USN) several biplanes joined the fleet making it possible to not only offer leisurely tours along the coast, but adrenaline pumping aerobatic and air-combat tours!
