North Florida Soaring Society

The North Florida Soaring Society is a non-profit club dedicated to providing safe flying facilities and equipment for its members, encouraging their education and development as competent and safety-conscious aviators through ground and flight training in sailplanes. The club also promotes soaring locally and nationally. They operate most weekends, weather permitting, offering educational flights where individuals can experience gliding in the Jacksonville area, taking off behind a tow plane and landing on the grass strip of Herlong Airport.
