Learn how Avyo uses Vision LLM technology to verify pilot identities, insurance documents, and certificates in minutes — at a fraction of traditional KYC costs.
Trust is the foundation of any peer-to-peer marketplace. In aircraft rental, the stakes are higher than most — owners are entrusting valuable assets to renters, and renters need confidence that the aircraft they're flying is properly maintained and insured. Verification bridges this trust gap.
Most platforms rely on manual document review — a team member checks uploaded documents against user profiles. This costs $1.50 or more per verification, takes hours or days, and doesn't scale well. Some platforms skip verification entirely, leaving trust to user reviews and reputation.
Avyo uses Vision LLM technology to automate document verification. When a user uploads a document, our system:
Upload a government-issued ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID). The AI extracts your full name, date of birth, and document expiration, then compares these against your Avyo profile. Mismatches are flagged for review.
Upload your Certificate of Insurance (COI) or Policy Declaration. The AI extracts the policy expiration date, covered tail numbers (N-Numbers), and coverage amounts. It then checks that the tail numbers match aircraft registered to your account and that the policy hasn't expired.
AI verification costs approximately $0.01 per check — roughly 150x cheaper than manual review services. Most verifications complete in under a minute. This lets Avyo verify every user without passing costs on to the community.
Avyo never stores raw identity documents after verification. Once the AI has extracted and validated the necessary data, the original document is purged. Only the verification status (verified/not verified) and expiration dates are retained. Sensitive data like MFA secrets and backup codes are encrypted with AES-256 at rest.
