The Southern Cross Douglas C-49J is a piece of living history and a true WWII veteran aircraft. It is the only remaining airworthy C-49J model in existence. Originally intended for American Airlines, it rolled off the Douglas assembly line in Santa Monica, CA on November 14th, 1942. The organization offers a 'C-49 Pilot Experience' which includes hands-on flying and a logbook endorsement for an hour of instruction.
